Swiss-based power group ABB has said it has won orders worth around $120m from Saudi Electricity Company to supply transformers that will help to enhance capacity and enable more electricity supply to meet growing needs. ABB said in a statement that it will design, manufacture, supply and install the power transformers, which will be located at substations in the western, eastern, southern and central regions of the country. ABB recently announced a $40-million investment for the construction of a new manufacturing plant for high-voltage GIS and the establishment of a transformer service workshop in Saudi Arabia.
