KEC International
will build a
765kV single
circuit line between
Varanasi and Balia in
Uttar Pradesh. The
Rs.173-crore turnkey
order was recently
placed on the Mumbaiheadquartered
company
by Power Grid
Corporation of India
Ltd. The project is
associated with the
transmission system for Phase-I
generation projects in Jharkhand and
West Bengal. PGCIL also placed other
orders worth Rs.118 crore on KEC
International for 132kV and 220kV
lines in Jharkhand.
Meanwhile, state power utility
Transmission Corporation
of Andhra Pradesh
Ltd (APTransco) also
placed an order worth
Rs.189 crore for supply
and erection of a 400kV
double-circuit transmission
line from
Rangampet to Gajwel in
the southern state.
KEC International’s
wholly-owned subsidiary
SAE Towers secured
various orders aggregating
Rs.79 crore to supply lattice
towers and poles to United States,
Mexico and Brazil. In another
development, the cable business of
KEC (formerly known as RPG Cables)
secured orders valued at Rs.87 crore for
power and telecom cables.
