Alstom Projects India
Ltd has reported three
contracts for hydropower
projects in Himachal
Pradesh and Sikkim.
Valued at over
270 crore,
these orders have come in
close succession of a major
contract recently won by
Alstom from Tehri Hydro
Development Corporation
(THDC) to install the
1,000-mw Tehri variable
speed pumped storage hydropower
plant in Uttarakhand.
The three recent contracts (see
table) were placed by private power
producers Shiga Energy Pvt Ltd, NSL
Tidong Power Generation
Pvt Ltd and Haridwar
Infrastructure Pvt Ltd.
All equipment will be
manufactured at
Alstom's Vadodara
facility in Gujarat, one of
the company's largest
hydro equipment
manufacturing hubs
worldwide.
Alstom projects
currently under execution
include India's large hydropower
project under construction-the 2,000-
mw Subansiri Lower hydroelectric
power plant straddling Assam and
Arunachal Pradesh.
